Ten 2019 cornerback prospects Texans fans should be familiar with pre-combine

The Texans desperately need help at cornerback. Jonathan Joseph is aging, Kareem Jackson is a free-agent slot cornerback/safety, Aaron Colvin is a slot corner, and Kevin Johnson is widely regarded as a bust.

The cornerbacks’ zone coverage was constantly exposed, and even head coach Bill O’Brien has called for more man coverage cornerbacks. That being said, this list has an emphasis on man coverage cornerbacks. While top prospects Greedy Williams and Byron Murphy aren’t mentioned due to the Texans draft status.

Rookie report card: Justin Reid receives an A+

A few months ago I wrote a film review about Justin Reid after the Texans beat the Redskins. I mentioned that he was the steal of the draft; a proclamation I believe to this day.

Now others believe the notion that Reid was a steal in the third round, as he has started to gain national attention. As he has earned spots on all-rookie teams by Pro Football Focus and ESPN. Meanwhile, Texans fans everywhere can sleep well at night knowing that general manager Brian Gaine drafted the cornerstone of their secondary with the 68th pick of the 2018 draft.
